Eligibility


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or diploma from a four-year accredited professional art school (exceptions considered if other proofs of preparation and accomplishment are deemed sufficient equivalents by the committee)

Application Process


  1. Submit the online application. The application portal opens in early October 2024 and may be worked on until early January 2025. 
  2. Pay a non-refundable fee of $100. Fee waivers are available for certain international applicants.
  3. Applicants must submit a one-page statement (maximum 500 words) addressing their influences, interests, current work direction, brief life history, and reasons for applying.
  4. Obtain three references from professionals who can attest to the applicant’s ability and potential.
  5. Applicants must provide academic records for their bachelor's degree or professional art school education. Official transcripts are only required for applicants who are invited to interview.
  6. Submit a portfolio that represents the applicant’s best work and current direction. It should include work that is both recent and indicative of the applicant’s personal style, with at least half completed in the last twelve months and all within the last three years.

    Still images should be in jpeg, png, bmp, or tiff format, and videos should be in QuickTime, AVI, FLV, MP4, or WMV format. The maximum duration for videos is 2 minutes for Graphic Design, Photography, and Sculpture, and 1 minute for Painting/Printmaking.
